01

The brief

Build a reliable capture and reconstruction workflow that preserves recognisable form while producing practical geometry for CGI.
02

My role

Image capture, RealityCapture reconstruction, geometry review, clean-up tests and presentation.
03

Outcome

A repeatable bridge between photography and 3D production that supports product visualisation and environment work.

Footwear reconstruction studies

Shoes are difficult photogrammetry subjects because soft materials, repeated textures, narrow openings and reflective details can confuse reconstruction. I tested varied capture paths, masking and clean-up methods to improve consistency.

This workflow was later applied to the commercial Hey Dude CGI project, where speed, recognisable product detail and flexible digital production all mattered.

From small objects to environments

The same principles were tested across buildings, environments and smaller objects. Changing scale introduced different problems around coverage, lighting variation, access and the amount of clean-up needed after reconstruction.
