01

The brief

Use rapid prototyping to turn practical ideas into testable physical objects while improving fit, assembly and usability.
02

My role

Concept design, CAD development, procedural modelling, print preparation, prototyping, testing and iterative refinement.
03

Outcome

A growing body of practical work connecting visual design with engineering-led problem solving.
01 · ARC 0.1

A custom retro controller enclosure

ARC 0.1 is a PC controller enclosure designed in Fusion 360 and printed on an Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro. The project combined board layout, control placement, enclosure design and print preparation.

Early prints exposed dimensional and printer-gantry issues, turning the enclosure into a useful test of tolerance, assembly and practical iteration.

02 · Tools for image-making

Turntable and portable light studies

I designed a geared turntable for shoe stop-motion photography. Interchangeable gear sets allow the user to switch between 30-frame and 60-frame rotations.

Portable light studies explored how printed geometry can shape light into decorative patterns for desks and walls. One version was modelled in Fusion 360; another used Houdini VDBs and a procedural approach.

03 · Printer enclosure

A stable, modular printing environment

The enclosure uses aluminium extrusions, custom printed corner joints and removable panels to reduce dust, temperature fluctuation, vibration and noise.

I modelled the full enclosure in approximately five hours. Individual joints took between 40 and 80 minutes to print, allowing the frame to be tested and refined part by part.

04 · Pottily

Character-led pots from procedural model to paint

Pottily is a series of expressive plant pots modelled in Houdini, refined in ZBrush and printed in PLA+. Spray filler, primer and layered paint were used to reduce print lines and bring out the facial structure.

Multiple design rounds tested scale, surface detail and the balance between printability and character.
