Sound Made Visible — Product Film R&D

I conceived, built, shot and edited a product-film approach that uses controlled sound frequencies and practical effects to create moving geometry around luxury objects.

The brief

Explore a distinctive way to present jewellery and watches by making sound visible on camera through practical effects.

My role

Concept development, custom rig design, shot planning, cinematography, lighting, frequency control, video editing and colour finishing.

Outcome

A repeatable visual language for product teasers, jewellery films and short-form branded content, supported by a custom-built cymatics platform.

01 · The concept

Frequency becomes form

Cymatics reveals the geometric patterns created when sound vibrates a surface. I used that behaviour as the foundation for a product-film treatment in which the practical effect supports the object rather than distracting from it.

A custom vibration platform drives a spring-steel plate at controlled frequencies. Fine particles respond in real time, forming and reforming patterns that can be captured as an organic visual effect.

02 · Film development

Practical effects, lighting and controlled capture

The project combines rig design, frequency testing, product styling and cinematic lighting. I developed shot ideas around watches, rings and pendants, using the cymatic patterns as a transition, framing device and source of movement.

Presented as an R&D prototype, these experiments establish a repeatable production method for product teasers, jewellery films and short-form branded content.
